Located in the Lehigh Valley, Dr. Mark Velarde is celebrating his 25th year of ownership at SHFP. Graduating from UMDNJ in 1993 (now part of Rutgers University) and completing a family medicine residency in 1998, Dr. Velarde has been practicing for nearly 30 years. He enjoys taking time to answer any and all questions during his appointments. Some of his favorite aspects of practice are minor procedures such as joint injections; however, Dr. Mark truly enjoys every aspect of his job. One of the things that drew him to family medicine is the ability to care for someone through all stages of life, from birth to the senior years, and being able to walk hand in hand with his patients through whatever healthcare they may need. In his time away from practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife of over 30 years, Diane. Dr. Velarde also has a daughter, with whom he shares a passion for Lord of the Rings and dogs (her dogs can often be seen at the office greeting patients and helping to ease any stress they may have.)
