The concept of Medical Associates of the Lehigh Valley began in 1993, when discussions were taking place concerning the impending changes in medical care in the region.
"Many of us had heard about the disruption of patient care caused by these changes in other communities throughout the country," comments Dr. Tom Brandecker, the first president of MATLV. "It became increasingly clear that we, as primary care physicians, had to take the pro-active steps necessary to ensure that patient care in the Lehigh Valley would not suffer as a result of these changes. Medical Associates was formed with this simple concept in mind."
Medical Associates of the Lehigh Valley is an independent physician-owned and physician-led professional corporation. We are one of Pennsylvania's largest primary care groups dedicated to preserving the private practice model, focusing on primary care. Our practice includes the disciplines of Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Our members practice by themselves or in group practices in over 30 locations operating independently yet cohesively forming one comprehensive organization with the unified mission of preserving the patient-doctor relationship to all who need our services.
